I have a Japanese truetype font and want to display Japanese symbols in a dialog box. When I change the font in CreateFont the text doesn't show up on the screen. How do I do this?

Ahhh... welcome to the wonderful world of programming in Japanese. My assumption is you are seeing question marks. What OS are you developing on? If it is pre-NT (ie 95 or 98) I would scrap the idea. You will have more headaches then you can imagine. Once NT was developed, support for UNICODE was implimented. In order to display the Japanese characters, you need to have the correct language pack installed on your system. I am out of work until wednesday but I have a document there that could be of assistance.

could you email me this document? it turns that i only have to have a small splash screen that actually display japanese characters. i few lines of "text" and some dates are all that is needed to be displayed in japanese. however i have NO clue as to how to even start this?
