Hi Takyan,
I can't help you with the VB or database portion, but I do develop reports in Japanese and have a dedicated pc just for Japanese report development. My regonal settings are set to Japanese and within the report, all fields, text, formulas, groups, numbers, currency, etc. must be set to a Japanese acceptable font, such as MS UI Gothic or something similar, otherwise the display usually appears as boxes or gibberish.
Hope this helps, [smilejap]

I had tried changing the regional setting to Japanese and font to MS UI Gothic. But it still can't display the Japanese character.
Hope you can help by giving more information on how you setup your development pc. I'm currently using CR 9.0.

Do you see the IME (Input Method Editor) toolbar on your desktop? IME is a software utility that converts keystrokes to characters in languages where the characters represent words or syllables.
