We've got PRI which displays inbound caller id number only - is there a way to program something in the Magix to match the inbound caller id number to a name (maybe built in a directory?) and display the NAME of the inbound caller instead of the number? or, ideally, both name and number?
TIA,
Annie

Nope You are out of luck. The Magix only supports Number

If you get a Sales Programming package like ACT - and connect it to your system - you can have ACT do screen pop-ups based on Caller ID - and bring up name and other info.

Drats on the directory option. Thanks, ttech.
Tom~
We use a similar program to ACT - called Goldmine. It'd rock our world if we could get Goldmine to perform a pop-up function - how is this done with ACT?
TIA,

I believe it uses a CTI link connection to the phone system. You can program an extention port to be a CTI link port.

As I recall, Goldmine was one that would do this as well.

To get the CTI Link to work, you have to have Passageway Telephony Server software in your Goldmine server, some client software in each of your work stations and a Card installed in the Goldmine server to accommodate the CTI Link from an MLX port, NOT A TDL (Magix Phone) PORT.

It will work, but you have to have all that stuff that may be hard to come by now.

wow... very exciting news and very much appreciated... alas, also completely over my head.
Do we have an MLX port/board?
Slot 0:
Magix R1.5 V.6
Slot 1:
412 LS –TDL
Slot 2:
016 TRR
Slot 3:
Merlin Messaging
Slot 4:
800 DID
Slot 5:
100 R-U
Slot 6:
800 GL ID

Nope.

Looks like your system supports up to (12) 4400 series telephones (412TDL) and up to (16) standard single line devices like a modem/fax machine/single line telephone (016T/R).

Any MLX boards will have the letters "MLX" on them. MLX phones were introduced with the Merlin Legend.

Magix MLX boards were introduced to allow Legend users to keep their existing telephones when upgrading to the Magix platform.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

You can add an 008 MLX board or 408 GS/LS MLX board to your Magix - and then you would have a port available for CTI Link
