Is it possible for vmpro to ask a caller to enter an account or ref number and then display the entered DTMF digits on a digital handset?

Use a Menu Action with a '$' option. Ask the caler to enter their account code followed by a '#'. Use a Generic action and have the specific tab set as 'CP0:$KEY'

Then when carrying out a Transfer, use the Transfer Action with the '$CP0' loaded in the 'Description' Field of the specific tab. Assumption here is that the 'Destination' field is appropriately filled in.

Beat me to it :)

I was busy confirming it worked, I went for the ???? to represent the expected account number as oppose to the $ though ;-) I don't think my VM skills are quite a match for yours at the min :)

The method using the '$' allows the number of digits entered by the caller to be variable and relies on the caller terminating their entry with a '#'. Using the '?' method requires knowledge of how many digits are required at config time, and makes the construction of the Menu action(s) to accommodate different length account codes, more complex. Either way, I like the flexibility offered by Voicemail Pro :).

Yep, it is by far the strongest selling point for the IP Office, it still surprises me what you can do with it never mind the customer :)

Excuse the question but is it a cero or an 'o'???

on the CP command.. and do I need the quotes???

when I test it.. I just get '' on my display.. and no numbers..

thanks.

You can just use $KEY if you want, it works :)

In the Transfer action I mean and do away with the Generic, if you want to keep it it's a zero not an o

Sorry.. not enough testing.. Got it now..
=D

this was sooooooo useful.. thank you very much..

Guys, one more question, the number is displaying correctly now, but as soon as I answer the call it goes away and it just displays the caller ID, is there somewhere that I can configure something for the number to stay displayed on the pnone once the called is picked up?

thanks again for all your help

Don't answer....LOL

Just joking around, had the same problem, didn't test to see if it will stay in PhoneManager you might give it a go.
