I want to be able to scan all mail files for particular file types (i.e. avi, jpg, etc).
I want to list them out in a format sort of like:

USERNAME FILENAME.ext EMAIL-DATE SIZE LOCATION
(inbox,sent,folder)

I want to be able to produce a list of all of these space hogging files so I can go to management and show them that there is a problem with people sending and keeping these types of files.

Once I get the OK, then I would like to run a "clean-up" script to delete attachments based on the output list as input to the clean-up.

Are there existing scripts that do this or is it part of domino native mode?

Currently running Domino 6.5.4
Thanks for any help.

I have had to write this kind of app already. It is rather easy to do if you have access to the mail template.

In the template, create a simple, hidden view that simply lists all attachments by creation date, attachment sizes and attachment names. Then create a scheduled agent that runs through the view and retrieves that information, pushing it into a log document. Once the agent is finished logging the content, send the log to a mail-in or to your mailbox and you're done.

Of course, the scheduled agent should be signed by the server, and the view as well.

Pascal.

I've got nothing to hide, and I'd very much like to keep that away from prying eyes.
