I just reinstalled Windows 98 2nd Edition, after formatting my Hard drive. Now when I try to change the screen size and the color palette, it wont let me get any larger than 640x480 resolution or anything more than 16 colors. Any help? this is really annoying me!! Thanks!!

Try reloading the drivers for your video adapter. most likely it just loaded the standard vga driver.

That is what happened, it loaded the standard PCI Graphics Adapter(VGA) but Im not sure how to reload the right one.
Ive tried updating the driver several times from several different locations, but kept getting the Standard one.

Do you have the install disk that came with the video board? If not, you can download the necessary drivers from the adapters website. Boot up as usual, go to device manager - highlight your video board - right click - find "update drivers" - point to the disk or where you d/l the drivers (un-zipped of course).

Before you look at the driver issue check out the msconfig display. Make sure under the General tab the Normal startup is check and not one of the items such as Diagnostic startup.

Also, if your system uses a video adapter built into the MB(not a separate video card inserted into a MB slot) and you have the MB's chipset driver CD, then just load the video drivers from there.

If you do not have the CD, then you can get the drivers either from the MB manuf's site or the computer manuf's site(Dell, Gateway, etc.).
