Dismounted old store, events 4001and 8097

Hi all,

I have a 2008 server running Exchange 2007 SP1 that crashed hard (power outage, bad battery backup), so I repaired the database. It happened again a few days later, and what I could find online basically says not to run on that twice-repaired database for long.

I created a new database, then migrated all the mailboxes to it (and it skipped a bunch of corrupted messages).

Now I've dismounted the old database and am getting the error at the end of this post.

If I mount the database, the error goes away. I can run integrity checks on the new and old database and everything turns up clean.

I am finding things on the internet saying to update the NIC drivers, but it's a Virtual Machine and the drivers are already at the latest and greatest.

I can also find posts online where the System Attendant doesnt start and gives the same errors, but that is not the case here since the SA is running fine.

I am also getting event 8097 despite having a public folder database on the server that is up and running.

Anyone have any ideas on where to begin?
