I have a live server and I want to mirror the root drive (c1t0d0) to drive 2 (c1t2d0). I have maybe one free slice. I've read that I can take from swap to use for the replicas?

1) How is that done?

2) If I have no free partitions, how can I use swap for both replicas?

3) Can this be done while the system is live and running?

Thank you

Are you out of space, or out of slices (/dev/dsk/c1t2d0s[0-7])?

One can always grab space from swap by reducing it using format, then assigning the high or low end to another slice.
This does not require a dump/restore, but is only done single user.

Any type of shrinking of a filesytem would require a dump/newfs/restore.
