Should Disksuite and RAID Manager be used together? This is the case at the location I am at. RAID Manager was used to configure the LUNS and disksuite is used for mirroring between arrays.
Sounds fine to me. We have used Veritas Volume Manager to do software mirroring between EMC Symmetrix arrays (which have either RAID10 or RAID50 internally) for some time, so you would be doing the same thing just using different software and hardware.
Thanks. The reason why I asked is because we recently replaced a drive in the A1000 and soon after the array and v480 became unstable. IOWAIT was up to 75% and we could not do much of anything. I'm wondering if the cfgadm unconfigure was conflicting with the fact that RAID manager handles the hardware on the box. Because of a time contraint we were forced to reboot the array and server. My next attempt will be to use RAID Mgr. to unconfigure the failed drive if that's possible?
