Hi Gang,
We recently purchased some old servers for use as maintenance spares or potentially for resale.
We have a server with six bays that has locks on the bays to prevent anyone from pulling the sled out and running off with the drive.

Thing is we don't have the keys. Has anyone else run into this?

The key is basically a cylinder with a hollow center think toilet paper roll with a one "tooth" on the outside of the cylinder....pretty common in the computer world.

Would appreciate some ideas.
Thanks.

You should be able to request a replacement key - the lock will have a number on it (e.g. "006"). We have several servers here with the same lock number so you might have some luck if have other Dell servers.

Until you get keys...
Locks of this type are very easy to pick. All you need are two paper clips and a search on google for lock picking
