I have a K7s5a mother board, new WD 60 GB HD, used WD 6GB HD, GEFORCE2 video card and an HP 9700 CDRW. I keep getting disk write errors when using the CDROM to install. I do not get them when I run programs. Only thing I noticed is that the CDROM is running at 33 MB transfer rate where the 60GB is running ATA 100 and the 6GB is running 66mb. I have checked my cable and connections. Why am I getting disk writer errors? BTW They both passed diagnostics when formating and installing windows. I have SMART drive enabled and it reports no errors.
