Hi,

i backup lots of servers (Windows 2000/2003) remotly from a central netbackup 6.0 Windows 2003 Server. For that i have a storage unit 1tb locally attached. All policies are configured to backup to a Disk Storage Group and the after that a duplication job runs and bakcup all to tape library.

My disk runs full tonite. I always thought if the Disk is full Netbackup begin to overwrite the older files, such like NB is doing when backup on Tape.

Am i wrong ? What do i have to configure in NB that the older files will be overwritten when disk is full.

Thanks a lot,
Marcus

NBU disk Storage units do not delete older, duplicated files, this is a manual process. disk staging storage units will manage the space as long as it has been destaged to another medium.

From what you write I would change the Disk Storage Unit to a Disk Staging Storage Unit and drop the duplication script.
The duplication would be done automaticly on a DSSU (if you define it)

Yes, but you must define a schedule when the disk will be destaged to tape.
