Hello All,
I'm using disk staging for some backups and they are not being written successfully to tape. Our server is Windows 2003, NBU 5.0 MP4 and the clients unix (solaris and linux) running 5.0,MP3 and MP4.
Here's a sample of what I'm seeing in the details of the job run:
************************************************************
2/25/2005 4:55:44 AM - mounting 1077L2
2/25/2005 4:55:44 AM - started process bptm (1012)
2/25/2005 4:55:44 AM - begin reading
2/25/2005 4:55:44 AM - started process bpdm (3132)
2/25/2005 4:57:29 AM - end reading; read time: 00:01:45
2/25/2005 5:01:20 AM - Error bpdm(pid=1948) ERR - Error occurred reading TIR information, expected 14634589 bytes + 0 GB, read 272322141 + 10 GB.
2/25/2005 5:01:20 AM - Warning bptm(pid=3084) ERR - Error reading TIR data, expected 14634589 bytes + 0 GB, received -1875161507 bytes + 0 GB.
2/25/2005 5:01:55 AM - Error bpduplicate(pid=1084) host qwprwi04 backup id qwprso03_1106982711 read failed, media read error (85).
2/25/2005 5:01:55 AM - Error bpduplicate(pid=1084) host qwprwi04 backupid qwprso03_1106982711 write failed, media manager - system error occurred (174).
2/25/2005 5:01:55 AM - Error bpduplicate(pid=1084) Duplicate of backup id qwprso03_1106982711 failed, media manager - system error occurred (174).
************************************************************
I don't think it's bad media as nbu grabbed some fresh tapes yesterday for the job and the same errrors occured.
The duplication jobs are lasting longer and longer since they are not getting put to tape.
Are these images corrupt? Should I expire them so that nbu doesn't continue to try to write to tape unsuccessfully?
Thanks,
Dan
