Anyone know of any utilities (except the big EM tools) that will let me run it in a script/batch file to get stats on a mapped network drive ? Ie Total disk space, Used and Free space.
This may not be helpful for you but a small utility comes with Win95/98 known as Msinfo32.exe. It shows almost all the system information including exactly what you need i.e. total disk space, used, free space and file system.
In the context of NT, the drives page of the Winmsd.exe has the information you need. This is the state of things as far as the disk space reporting is concerned. As regards scripts, the usage of these utilities depends upon one's programming skills...which I don't have much...
I run a small php script on my webserver that uses diskfree() to get the amount of free disk space on the drives (by using //server/C& (useful for remote machines) etc etc..
I can't, however get it to produce any other stats from remote machines, altho no problem with doing this on the local webserver PC (even with graphs etc - possibilities endless!)
A simple tool called "Alchemy Eye" user licence £50. Monitors Workstation / Server. Alert are e-mail, desktop messenger service. Checks Disk Space, Event Logs, Ping test and variuos others. Downloadable of the web.
