AND I CANT FIGURE OUT WHY
anyone know where i should look?

It's log files.
A new one (5 meg) is being created every minute.

Aren't log files approximately 5megs?

c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata

look for all the log files...

my 5 meg log files aren't every minute... we don't have that much activity...

Have you recently switched on any sort of diagnostics logging ?

Its the log files....they are all exactly 5MB. If you use a nice backup software, these log files do get removed once you have completed either a full backup or an incremental, not differential.
