I know this is dumb, but I am new to Unix/Aix and just covering the bases until I can hire someone else...
So how do I translate this:

Filesystem 1024-blocks Free %Used Mounted On
/dev/hd0 425984 317464 26% /

into (1) how disk space I have total and (2) have free?
-thanks

noober,
First, take the number of blocks (under 1024-blocks) this is the total amount of space in kilobytes on that file system. In this case it means you have just shy of 426 megabytes in your root filesystem. Of that you have ~ 317.5 meg free. So you have just over 108 meg used on the rootfs.

As you see it's pretty easy.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for such a clear answer!
