Hi. I have some questions about disk signature related to clusters.

1) I always thought that disk signature was a feature of disk which is independent from clusters: is this correct ?

2) If I had CLUSTER A with DISK A attached to it, is it possible to disconnect DISK A from CLUSTER A and attach DISK A to CLUSTER B ? In this case, is there any problem with disk signature ? I thought that disk signature problems come out only when trying to restore the backup of a cluster and trying to attach to it a different disk.

Thanks for your help

1. Windows writes a signature to all disks, clustered or not.

2. You can move the disk from one cluster to another without issue.

The physical disk resource on the cluster uses the disk signature to work out which disk is the correct one.

Disk signatures are written to all disks regardless of clustering.

Thanks for your answers. Could you please suggest a book ( or knowledgr base, or article ) with clustering explained deeply in all its sides ?

Thanks in advance
