Yesterday, I tried to move disk group 2 (Win2000 cluster not changed for several years) from node 2 to node 1 so that I could do maintenance on node 2. The 2 disks in the disk group would not come online,

Cluster resource 'Disk I:' failed.
Cluster resource 'Disk H:' failed.

Node 1 was still hosting disk group 1 and the Quorum drive OK.

File Explorer didn't show the two missing drives on node 1, but node 2 shows all drives even though you can't access the ones that it doesn't own.

Moving the diskgroup back to node 2 brought them back online.

1) How do I re-add the disks to node 1 so that it can host this disk group?

Thanks,
Gary

A reboot of node 1 may fix the issue. You may need to rescan the bus of node 1 and see if you can't get the resources to show up back in there.

Also make sure that no one changed the zoning of the LUNs on the storage.
