Hi All,

I hope somebody can shed a little light on a situation i'm experiencing here. Our file server has 2 disk arrays connected, on the F: drive we have all our students shared folders. Quotas are enabled with each student being permitted 512Mb.

I have had multiple reports from course leaders and lecturers that students are reporting being denied space. I've checked a couple and there is a student who's home folder only contains 17Mb but her quota entry is 500+Mb There shouldn't be anywhere else on the drive that the student can access but i checked sizes of every folder except home folders and it only totals 300Mb no matter who the owner is.

Is there anyway of forcing a re-scan on the disk to update the quote entries and ensure they are accurate?

Thanks in Advance SkR

The first thing I would do would be to personally confirm the student is in fact being denied drive space.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

There are no more PDC's! There are DC's with FSMO roles!

This may be a struggle as getting a technician and one student in the same place at the same time can be difficult. The quota entries do match up with what the lecturer was saying and i don't see how. I do think a re-scan would be beneficial. Is it part of a chkdsk ?
