What data makes up disk quotas?

I have set the users disk quota to 1gb and some users have gone over that 1gb. But when I right click on the home folder it is no where near the amount of spaced used it tells me they are using.

Where else does it pull this information from?

Help please

Quotas are based on File ownership on the entire partition. This is why I usually divide things up putting users home drives on a separate partition from everything else.
