Hi

When boot my WS(WIN XP SP2) I have this message ; "Primary Disk error"
I decided to add Hard disk( Maxtor IDE) as secondary to another system, so as to retrieve my files. When I click My computer I cannot see it.Not there not even on Computer Managements ,Disk Management( Control Panel). However in BIOS and on Device Manager exists.

Why this is happening? Any ideas?

Regards

Are jumper settings o.k? How are you connecting the Maxtor drive? On the same cable as something else? alone?

Did something happen to the system the drive is from to make you do this?

Perhaps the problem was with the hard drive?

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Primary disk error means you partition has gone or HDD gone. If there is any important file you can hook to other pc and still recover your files. But in any case you shouldnt use that disc.
