Disk Mirror running out of space! Got advice?

On our current MS Exchange 2000 server, we are running Windows 2000 server. We have two harddrives installed, half of the harddrive is partitioned out at c: and the other half is e:.
The second harddrive is a mirror of the first, we are running disk mirroring.
On my c: drive, i only have about 10% of free space left. How can I increase this? Can i add another harddrive to expand this space?

What about buying 2 identical BIG drives and ghost the 2 existing hard disks to the new drives?

In my experience with Ghosting harddrives, the new ghosted harddrive is identical to the old drive. So the partition sizes will be the same and the rest of the new drive will be empty space.
The only way i can think of is to back up the data and restore it on a new harddrive already loaded and partitioned with Windows 2000 and Exchage 2000.
Or just migrate the data from one PC to the other.

Having been using Ghost for the past few years (6 & 7). If you do a disk to disk ghost, during ghosting you have the option of resizing the resulting partition. If you do the default then you'll end up with a big partition which equals to the size of the new hard disk.

My current hard disk is a 17 GB split into two partitions. C: is 8GB and the E: is 9GB.
Should i get two more drives and partition them? (example) A 200GB and make C: 100GB and E: 100GB? Then Ghost old C: to the new C:, and same for E:? Then boot up the new drives and restart the mirror.

Or

Should I buy two new drives and Ghost c: to one new drive and e: to the separate hard drive?

What version of Ghost are you using?

Sorry for the late reply, was out of town.
So you have 2 physical drive mirroring each other. The physical drive has 2 partitions on it. so basically the 2 drives have identical data on them.

If that's the case, I'd get 2 identical drives (whatever size you fancy) and ghost one physical drive to one of the new drives. When you start ghost 7 and do a disk to disk ghosting, you'll have the choice to resize the partitions. Just set the partition size as you desire and ghost the drive.

Then you can use your mirror software to set up your mirror on the server.

You can use ghost 6 or ghost 7. You'll need to create a boot disk and run the ghost from a floppy.

Also, do I have to format the new drive before i try to ghost? Do i have to partition the new drive before i ghost?

Are you using Norton Ghost that comes with Norton System Works?

Yes, you can ghost drive to drive in which all partitions on the source drive will be copied to the target. (you can adjust the sizes of the partitions during the process)

You don't have to partition or doing anything to the new drive. Just connect the drives and ghost them.

I'm using an older stand alone dos version Ghost 7.0 which only runs from dos. (not a dos prompt within windows, you actually have to boot from the floppy drive).

Might be an idea to do a test run if you have access to a spare drive large enough to hold everything on the old drive.

i am trying to find a new SCSI drive to replace the ones we have.
Can you e-mail me a copy of that Ghost 7.0 in a zip file? The only one i have is Norton Ghost and I can't figure it out.

I'm sorry but I don't think it's appropriate to send you the file but I think you can still buy it off symantec.

Or some other people may be able to help you with the norton ghost and how it works.
