I have inherited control of a G3 that has one internal disk. The disk has two partitions, one containing OS9 and one containing OS10. I would like to wipe both and merge them, creating one main partition again. Once done I intend to install OS10.2 on there.

I don't really know what I am doing with Macs so could someone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks.

I am not an OSX user, but I do know that the beige G3 must have OSX on the first partition and it must be less than 8 gig, so it is possible (if it is beige and has a drive larger than 8 gig) that it MUST have two partitions.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

When you boot from the OSX install CD, go to the menu at the top of the screen and open the disk utility (you can leave the OS installer prompt waiting on the desktop). The rest is easy.
