I have server with some performance issues, afetr gathering all the details i could see few system spids are the top IO consumers. Should I be concerned about this?
Here are the details.

SPID Status Login DbName Command CPU DiskIO
5 BACKGROUND sa master TASK MANAGER 0 379013
8 BACKGROUND sa master TASK MANAGER 0 15032
18 BACKGROUND sa master TASK MANAGER 0 13126
6 sleeping sa NULL CHECKPOINT SLEEP 244703 12924
20 BACKGROUND sa master TASK MANAGER 0 9107

Any reccomendations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Good Luck.

It's probably fine that those system spids have the higest disk io. Especially if the SQL Server has been online for a while. Those counters are since the process loged into the SQL Server. With the system spids that would be since the SQL Server was last started.

If you think that you are having IO issues you need to check on your disk queueing and seconds per read and seconds per write in perfmon.
