Not sure if this is the correct forum, but has anyone ever seen this error?

Disk I/O Error: Status = 00000400

It appears immediately after bootup. When I hit ctrl-alt-del, the PC reboots and is extremely slow, that is after it automatically scans the C file system.

Any ideas what could be wrong.

Thanks,
Z

I would say that your HD is failing. Backup, replace, and restore. Good luck, you're going to have a long weekend.
