I'm getting a disk full error, but when browsing all the items stored on the hard drive, the total items don't come up in size anywhere big enough to fill the drive up. Where do I begin to track this down? Windows error? Virus?
You are probably not viewing all files, and there is also a selection to view operating system files (Tools/Folder Options/View). This will include your pagefile, which takes up a large amount of your space. By default it is about 1½ times your amount of physical RAM.
In Explorer, right click on the drive and click on properties. It will tell you how much drive space you have.
If your disk is full...
1. First you must empty the recycle bin.
2. Then delete files.
