Hi!
I am running a backup everyday which generates a compressed tar file of about 7GB. Everything was going on fine. But from the past few days, I am getting the following error:

Sep 27 04:03:25 xxx Error for Command: write(10) Error Level: Retryable
Sep 27 04:03:25 xxx scsi: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Requested Block: 53969913 Error Block: 53969913
Sep 27 04:03:25 xxx scsi: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Vendor: SEAGATE Serial Number: 0201P0ZT4K
Sep 27 04:03:25 xxx scsi: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Sense Key: Aborted Command
Sep 27 04:03:25 xxx scsi: [ID 107833 kern.notice] ASC: 0x47 (scsi parity error), ASCQ: 0x0, FRU: 0x3

However, the backup does go on fine and completes and there is no problem with the file. This error appears only during the backup and not any other time. Can anyone tell me whats wrong?

Thanks,
Krish

There should be a line before these you noticed, that tells you which device is concerned (tape drive, hard disk ?)

If it concerns hard disk, try format > analyze > read (it should fix it by putting the block on the defective blocks list), or replace the cartridge if it's the tape.
