Good Morning,
I regularly check the event viewer to see how my system is running.
A new error has came up. There is a few HDD error entries. When I click for more help the message says "The device has a bad block of memory, which Windows attempted to read. The data might be missing or corrupted". Suggestions include replacing the HDD.
So I decided to investigate a bit. I ran a thorough HDD check through the program Speed Fan and it says the following at the bottom of the analysis:
NOTE : your hard disk has 63 pending sectors. Those are sectors that couldn't be properly read and that the hard disk logic is waiting for a write operation to try to remap to a spare sector (if available). According to the Reallocated Sector Count attribute, your hard disk seems to have available spare sectors. A simple disk surface scan won't be enough to force the remap operation. You need a read/write surface scan to remap the sector. The best option should be a tool that knows about what should be read from that sector so that it has some option to apply the best fix to the missing data.
The overall fitness for this drive is 81%.
The overall performance for this drive is 92%.
"You need a read/write surface scan to remap the sector".

My question is:
Where could I download a program that will perform this scan??
Please note that I have already ran both the Windows file system errors and the recovery of bad sectors checks.

Thank you in advance!

I ran both dsk chk and defrg, both completed with no errors.
Could anybody care to enlighten me on this subject?
Any thoughts would be appeciated.
Thank you in advance,

Plan and execute an immediate backup of all your critical data as this drive is failing. After data backup, go to the drive manufacturer's web site and download and run their hard drive diagnostic tools.

Totally agree. In this day of sub-$100 drives there is no reason to trust your data to a wonky drive. Clone with Acronis or Ghost and you're good for another four or five years.
