All of a sudden my disk drive won't work. It says device
not ready. What is wrong and can I fix it??

Assuming you have a disk in the drive, and you haven't been inside your computer lately, disk drives go bad. You need to replace it. sorry.

why don't you check the cable? Or try to replace with a new one.

further assuming that this problem is eons old and you've probably done something about it, but banking on the fact that you might have not bothered...

The previous post regarding replacing the floppy drive is likely correct. However, checking all cabling is in order before sending this component to the heap.

Don't spend too much time - computer junkyard shops sell these things for about $20.
