The built in Windows 2003 defragmenter is not proving very usefull to us. Can anyone suggest third party products that can

a) be scheduled

b) defrag more than one volume at a time

c) be run while users are using files

d) price is a factor as well, i'm looking for cheaper than disk keeper.

Thanks.

I was hoping for something cheaper as we are a college and money is tight, what version is suitable for a 6 server setup? Would i need to buy 6 server addition licences?

Cheers.

yes, you would need to buy licenses for each installation.

why can't you use the one that comes with Windows?

Don't seem to be able to schedule it and it can't be run while people are connected using files which i beleive you can with disk keeper.

are you sure about that, Pink? I thought you could run it.

And why couldn't you use Windows Schedule to schedule a defrag in the early AM?

You cant schedule it to run and do both C & D one after the other as far as i can tell.

If i run it while people are connected they keep losing their files, i noticed this as my desktop that lives on the server disappears as well.
