hi!

I am trying to use "wine" command to run windows programs, but sometimes not sucessful.

The installators fail because no disk was found...
(Windows Applications does not recognise / as a disk!!!"

HOW TO CREATE SOMETHING FOR EMULATING DISK C: (WITHOUT FORMATTING)

ok, i'm not going to read the docs for you, and can't remember off the top of my head. find the wine config file, which is winerc or wineconf or whatever (like i said, i don't remember), and map yourself a c drive. it sounds like you haven't done that.

I am sorry, but I am totally new linux user and I do not know many things about it.

Can somebody tell me how to do it step by step...

PLEASE!!! It is very mportant for me!!!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ANY SUPPORT!!!

PS. I am using RedHat Linux Personal.

Sorry if i was short, i was about to leave work :). The file is /etc/wine/config. It should be heavily commented. you want to alias c:\ to whatever partition you want in that file. hope that helps. try for a step-by-step

I did not found your file, but I found /home/Peter/.wine/config
It has drive c: info
It is in /usr/share/wine-c. I go there and I found Windows and My documents dir and a few files.
But out of my all Windows software only 2 could proceed.

But they get stuck displaying "Preparing to install..."

SO FINALLY WE KNOW THAT:

NO SOFTWARE CAN RUN UNDER WINE

Well, I downloaded a newest version of Wine (UNDER DEVELOPMENT) wich could run a FEW of my application (about 10%)... hmm...

Maybe when the development is finished it will be better..

Thank you for giving me that web site:
The wine I downloaded there is better (it is for gui not command prompt) and ;

FINALLY INSTALLATORS DETECT DISK C: !!!!!!
