i got this problem of re-discovering the disk array from my solaris sparc box. initial solaris OS install was able to detect it, but - after i tried to break the "raid" config, i lost it totally.

i just want to re-connect my c3 (disk array). any feedback is appreciated. thanks.

after i tried to break the "raid"

I wouldn't say you tried, I'd say you succeeded! Have you tried to rediscover the device using devfsadm -c disk ?

I want to be good, is that not enough?

lol, Ken.. yup..i think i totally broke it....

Here's what I got..

Can you see the disks via "probe-scsi-all" at the OK prompt? Might want to start at the lowest level and work your way back up the chain. If you can't see it there, then the OS definitely won't see it.

You also might want to reconfigure your path_to_inst file (after saving a copy of course). It might be looking for the same old stuff.

But when checking it from the format command, I can only see the two (2) internal system hdisks, NONE in disk array.

I think what I need now is to create/define/map it using SCCLI. But, the thing is: I'm NOT familiar with "sccli", and I don't have the desktop graphical interface to manage the SUN StorEdge 3310. Does someone, have experience in doing this? Guide/tips/help are welcome.

i got it running, but of raid setup ... i want individual disk to be recognized under "format"

# sccli /dev/es/ses1 create logical-drive raid0 0.0,0.3
# sccli /dev/es/ses1 create logical-drive raid0 0.8,0.11

# sccli /dev/es/ses1 show logical-drives

ld0 4227D9B2 67.47GB Primary RAID0 2 0 0 Good
ld1 20C727D1 67.47GB Primary RAID0 2 0 0 Good

It's showing now disk in the "format", but only one. I want at least two more disk from solaris os-side.

I finally got the answer I'm looking for and I thought it's worth sharing to whoever might need it (SE 3K disk array disk 0.9 is defective):
