I know nothing about this area but have been asked to pull together information for a project. We are proposing to set up a central server for running models of land use and land managment and the interaction with the ecosystem. The serever will be somthing like an 8 way win 2000 advanced server accessing either a NAS or as part of a SAN with, 1 terrabyte of disk storage. The models will largely be VB6 or Fortran and will be developed using a subset of the data held at the central site. We then want the developers/scientists to upload the model to the central server for validation runs using the full dataset. The developer should be able to retrieve the results when the model has finished each run.
Will terminal services alloe the user to copy the model file to the server as well as run the model? Most of the models will run in GIS packages such as Arcview and Arcinfo. If terminal services is not appropriate what would be?
