Hi,
I work for a service provider and we are rolling out HPOV as replacement to our previous management system. We have Auto-Discovery turned off and am using loadhosts to get the correct nodes loaded per customer. Now for the problem. Have half a dozen C1601's that wont discover/display the PVC's from them to other node's. Have other C1601's that
display everything fine. Have checked comunity strings are fine, access-lists OK and route back to the management station. The Test IP/TCP/SNMP is all OK. Status poll shows the subinterfaces as up. However the interface status overview shows the subinterface has notifications off. Can someone please explain what I am missing. Lastly have checked IOS and there is nothing common there as have working and non working on same ios'

Looking forward to your responses.

Regards

Mal

Hi there MalEarl, this is a weird situation, really, are you completely sure that you are running the same IOS in every 1601 device?

Maybe you could try an SNMP debug on a couple of routers and see if there is anything "not-right" going on...you could as well try an snmpwalk from your management server against one of the routers thar are behaving correctly and one against the others, ok?

Let us know how it turns out.

HTH, regards,

Thanks for the response Vlan52.
We do run different IOS' eg 11.2 and 12.0 but we have routers with 11.2 that have been discovered fine and others
with 11.2 with undiscovered links. Same with routers with 12.0. I am not sure if it is not a wierd issue with the manual discovery and copy & paste from one submap to another. Is the quick answer for me to use the Edit: Add Connection, add links between the routers and then change them to managed. Will this then discover the interfaces and that the connection is FR. If you can explain the correct process for doing this so I don't miss any steps.

Thanks again

Mal
