I have a question of my own. Since I am a programmer, my expertise on functionality is low. My question is, "When taking a discount from an invoice, is there a switch to control the inclusion or exclusion of taxes applied to the invoice gross amount?". Some states do not allow reduced taxes on goods purchased with a discount while others do.

I'll answer my own question since now I have become an "expert" on discounts and its application to MIMS.
Only certain states allow discounts to be inclusive with taxes. Meaning, if the client receives a discount, the invoice amount after the discount is taxable rather than the initial invoice amount.
To answer my question is no: MIMS is not an American software package, but an international software package. Until Mincom, Inc. has a strong enough client base to break free from big brother Mincom PTY LTD, the software will remain international leaving American clients to their own devices for development of an American-ized MIMS.
