Disconnect users from NT by timlag ???

We have the problem that sometimes our NT workstation denies logon of a new user with the error message "Too much users logged on" (max. connected users about 15?). But this obviously does not refer to the actual opened file or printer connections. If i.e. a user closes a file connection, the user stays connected for about another hour without any need. Is there any possibility to adjust the timeout for the automatic disconnection of a user? Or any other hints how to solve this problem?
