disconnect URLConnection

I am using URLConnection class in my java program to connect with one web server. I want the connection disconnected from my java program. What should I do?

i notice that there is a URLConnection child (HttpURLConnection), that class has a disconnect method.

sorry that i can't help much cos I'm using the Connection class and thus no experience with URLConnection.

But,

Even though I disconnet one HttpUrlConnection, I can open another HttpUrlConnection without authentication again, right?
Disconnecting the connection means that I can't use the object again. right?
