disconnect/Mermail issue

Set up: Opt 11C Rls 20 Mermail 9.x:
Loop trunk; XUT card; Auto DN to 500 set; DN NCFW to Mermail ACD.

Call pattern:
Inbound call; auto terminates on 500 DN. DN no answer call forwards to Mermail ACD then to voice mail box. Caller hangs up before leaving message.

Problem:
Though reversal is given by CO system will only disconnect if caller hangs up before Mermail answers or if answered manually at 500 set. Call won't disconnect when in middle of voice mail greeting or after.

Suggestions PLEASE?

I have changed the DSI timers in the RDB to no avail.
I have attempted an ACD interface with night call forwarding, equally to no avail.

Never use Loop trunks in a Option 11 - 81 as there is no supervision, only use Ground Start trunks as they use supervision.

No Supervision on an Opt11? What about supervison yes in LD14 when COT is LOP... and DSI timeer in the RDB?? Have I missed something fundamental here?? Please Help!

OK.. is this what you mean?:
When a loop start trunk is connected to an LOP configured CO Port, and a device such as Mermail answers.. and the caller hangs up, there is no way for a regular UT card to send the disconnect info to the Mermail?

When I configured the CO port for GRD I had great success. Ringing and disconnect through to mermail work perfectly.

Why?
Will this damage the UT card?

I am no expert on Meridian, but when I went thru training they said a stand alone merdian can use ground start trunks. When interfaced with a voicemail you must use Grond start, PRI/BRI, or T1 to assure that voicemail will release line properly. The instructor says when call is connected to mermail it will not release poperly with loop start trunks. We all asked the same ? you had, but they were unable to answer to are satisfaction.

That is all I know.

Thanks for that. It probably just means that the universal trunk card, when set for loop, dosen't send disconnect information to the terminal devices properly. I have a quirey out to AT&T to find out how they supply loop disconnect supervisory signaling. AT&T are not the main Telco here but resell from a private fibre loop direct. It is all centrex loop to them.
We'll see today.
