We have just ceased our isdn line and transferred to SIP trunks. We have retained two analogue trunks, one is provided by BT and the other is Virgin Media.
I have noticed that when the caller to either line hang up the line stays busy for approximately three minutes before disconnecting.
I have viewed the posts on the forum about disconnect clear and all seem to be a bit hit and miss.
I have tried various settings on the disconnect clear timer but when I view in system status the call stays active for three minutes after hanging up
Any suggestions?

Avaya recommend to set the dis clear time 150ms less than the line setting.
Get BT to set the line to 500ms and set IPO to 350 ms

Rang our BT business manager today and asked for disconnect clear to be enabled at 500ms, she said I would need to speak to BT faults, rang them she said she didn't know why but the system wouldn't let her and I would need to speak to my business manager again, rang her and she said it is faults that need to do it and it's only the click of a button, rang faults and this time she said my business manager would have to raise an order and that it could take up to 5 working days to complete. Is this normal?

Sounds about right. It counts as a new provision and goes in the queue.

I don't have those problems with BT as I am a partner

It could have been the lines are not PBX line and are single exchange lines .

Thats what they said in faults, that it was an exchange line and we would need sales to change it to a pbx line, when I rang our sales manager she said that there was no such thing as a pbx line and she should know because she had worked fot BT for 25 years.

sometimes it is in terminology. perhaps, use
"trunk" instead of "line".

Exchange lines that terminae on a pbx need to be set by BT OMC to PbX .
The reason is if you want a Second line on the same number then the line needs to be PBX working.

Single exchange line (residential) can't ave this ability.

Disconnect clear enabled today, working perfect
Thanks everyone
