Anyone know best practice on CCM as far as a backup server ? Can it be located in another location or only on site...what are the procedures related to invoking the standby...does campus redundancy help like if we would put in a MG1000 with a cse1000e in corporare..we have a call center building and a corp office...

There is an option for CC 6.0 for Geo-Redundancy--it's an option but it's also a type of replication server.
as for best practices...can't help ya.

We had a standby on site that was easy to take care of.

Once a week we would do a backup, and then restore that onto the backup server. All we had to do in case of emergency was swing the elan cable over and it was good to go.

As far as offsite or not, the smart practice would be to remove the backup to a safe location. The server itself is just a server and can easily be replaced, its the data that would be difficult to replicate without the backup.
