Hi, recently I have been looking into Disaster recovery planning and one of the thing that I really wanted to know is, How do we rectify if what we have backup is useable. I am currently using Veritas backup exec ver 9.0 and daily I have schedule it to backup our ERP data which is in MSSQL 2000.
How do I do test?As my application have to be running 24hrs, and if I were to just restore back the data, won't it interrupt with the database. i thought of creating a test data in SQL(however its not related to my ERP apps)where the data will be backup at the same time daily. And from there I could just restore back the test data.

I am not sure if this is the right way. Any advice???

Thanks
Lawrence
