Hi,

I would like to know if anyone successfully restore a NT4 server using Arcserve2000 disaster recovery option? How reliable is it?

Thanks,

MBW

If installed and configured correctly the Arcserve DR option is very reliable.

A test restore to an off-duty server of like-hardware configuration is highly recommended.

CA's latest product BrightStor offers the same functionality with Solaris and i think HP/UX.

Hi, James:

Can I restore exchange database to a different exchange server within same domain?

Thanks,

BMW

I highly recommend reading the Microsoft Whitepapers on Exchange 5.5 (DR). There are some important considerations that you must evaluate for your environment (OS, PDC). If you are obsessed with painless DR do consider Arcserve 2000 with the Disaster Recovery option using a CDRW. For a fail-over to redundant hardware solution check out Computer Associates SurviveIT option.

Hope this helps. Give us a call if you need any addition advice. Visit us on the web for info we're constantly updating.
