Disaster Recovery Option - What is Full Backup?

I have a huge Notes Server and would like to install the Disaster Recovery Option for it. However I would like to exclude the mail subfolder.
The documentation says that a full backup must be performed so that ArcServe recognises the Server. Is there anyway around this?
I am waiting for a reply before I start the installation.

As a "full backup", what arcserve disaster recovery requires is a solid green box for the whole server at the first tier level. You can select this and deselect mail by including this sub-folder as a directorey exclusion within filters. This way the box stays solid green and you exclude the mail folder.
