Hi Folks

anybody any experience of doing a DR of an NT 4 IIS server?

The scenario is you have a new NT server with completely different hardware from the dead one and a full backup of the pre-dead dead server. Due to the different hardware I'd assume the way to go is a fresh NT4 build and installing IIS4 ideally with the same file locations as you had on the old server and SP versions etc.
From there what exact directories should I be looking at restoring and is there any specific registery keys that will need restoring?

Thanks a lot,

Caimh

Have you found anything on this? I've found that the backup gets most everything back but I can't get IIS to start.

Make sure you have recovered the IIS metabase file. The file is located in the following path:
WinNT\system32\inetsvr\metabase.bin

The above file contains all of the config info required by IIS.
