My hard drive for my Windows 2003 lsot the NTFS file system. I got most of the files recovered using Ontrack. Does anyone know where sharepoint stores the list, files, etc so I can pull them out for view.

Thankx

All the contents of Lists and Doc libraries will be part of the SQL2000 Databases (Not sure about MSDE if you are using that). So if you can reinstall SQL2000, then Sharepoint, make sure youve got the same Service Packs etc, Create a portal and restore your Dbs over the new ones created and you should have it all back.

Also for a standard install, you will want, basically everything from 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions' this is where all the css files are, templates etc that is all installed standard but if you've made mods to anything.

I dont know if that is how MS say to do it, but thats how I would try do it.

If you've got your databases you'll be good.

Ok using Ontrack it was able to restore and copy the contents of
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$Sharepoint\Data
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions

Now when I restall the server I don't know who to import those data files. Thankx for you help

Have you still got SQL2000 installed and if so, can you get to Enterprise manager?

No I don't have anything installed. The Master boot record for the drive was lost. I was able to use Ontrack Data Recevery software on another computer to copy the dictories. Now I have to do a total rebuild of MS Server 2003 Small Business and figure how to get the new install to read to recovered files.
