I am carrying out a Disaster Recovery exercise on a spare SUN machine, which is attached to the network. It's hostname is 'sparesun'. Named as to avoid conflict with true host (as this is on network also).
Is it possible to use nwrecover to connect to the "true" server, called 'findata' and recover the filesystems to 'sparesun'?
'sparesun' is not backed up and has never been defined as a Networker client. It is not possible to run nwrecover from this machine.
I know I can get around the problem by disconnecting the true server from the network and renaming 'sparesun' to 'findata'. This would allow me to recover using nwrecover but I would like to keep both servers attached to the network if possible.
