Ok i got a new computer and i had a new drive put in but sometimes the drive doesnt show up in my computer and if you try to use a program form that drive from an .ink it says that file doesnt exist. i can sometimes get the drive to show by going into the control panel and add/remove hardware and searching. Also the files/folders inside are errored and there names are "BATULE~3. !" which should be "Battlefield 1942" and when you try to open a folder it says that
E:\BATULE~3. !is not accessible.
The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

sorry for any mistakes as im only 15.

What OS are you useing?
The file names are in the old DOS format for some reason, but I can't think why that would be at present.
Are you sure you haven't got a virus?

windows 2000 and i dont know what files are in the old dos format. I have norton antivirus 2004 so i shouldnt have a virus. plus its my old computer just a new drive put in.

Just because you have Norton A/V doesn't really mean that you don't have a virus.
Have you kept your virus definition files upto date, by downloading from the internet?
Download & run Stinger, this searches for certain viruses.
Is Windows 2000 totally upto date with all security patches etc applied.
There is a hole in the security of Windows 2000 that will let the msblaster or Nachi virus in.

Good idea.
Run stinger get it from here:

Goto windows update and update with all security fixes.
Update the nav virus def files.

Why you have dos short names for battlefield i don't know.
Do the above things , a new install of battlefield and
se how it goes.

(Maybe a fresh install of windows is neccesary)

If it is a virus & it can't be deleted by any other way then a format & re-install will be required. Might be a good idea anyway.
