disappearing windows - mike gangon

Problem solved. It was the CLEAR EVENTS in the Deactivate method of the top level window. It was obviously getting deactivated when the child window was opened, but somehow this method was being held in reserve until the child window was closed. Then CLEAR EVENTS took over and returned control to the main program.
