Hi,

On some longer messages (particulary one's with several replies) the text just seems to fade out. Can still view the text when highlighting but otherwise not.

Win98SE, P3550, 256mb ram with 2.4gig free space on 15gig hd. No spyware (Spybot & Adaware). Any suggestions?

TIA

John

Update your antivirus program, and check for a virus.

If none, then run the IE repair tool in system Information/Tools.

If no luck, reinstall IE and OE.

Is there any chance that some 'stationary' has become corrupt? What happens if you change the text format to 'plain text' (may need to hit reply or forward to do this)?

Hi ski,

Virus definitions fully up-to-date. Full system scan two days ago - no viruses. Ran the IE repair tool through add/remove progams - Microsoft IE 6sp1.

No change to problem - not yet willing to uninstall and re-install IE & OE. Thanks very much for your input and helpful advice.

Hi smah,

Only use plain text - no stationary or backgrounds.
Thank you also for your helpful advice.

best

John
