Disappearing tapes

I have ARCserve 2000 connecting to a SQL Server 7.

The problem I have is that some of my tapes are marked as destroyed and they disappear from my media pool/scratch set

I'm kind of new at ARCserve, but I know this shouldn't be happening. The SQL database was recreated a few weeks ago, and the tapes were formatted with a new serial number.

If I manually re-set the value of destroyed in the database, then they appear again, but after a while (a day or two) they're gone.

Is there anyting I should check or see on ARCserve o SQLServer?
